I have spent the 12 months getting here and it has been quite the journey. I am not new to photography. Nor am I new to owning a professional photography business. In fact, I was the owner of a successful wedding photography business for eight years. Then I met the love of my life and I shifted my whole world to become a wife, a step-mother, and a teacher.
I am one of those types of people that is compelled to do their best at whatever they are doing. For the last five years, I focused on being the best wife, teacher, school photographer, etc. What I wasn’t doing a very good job at was taking care of my creative self. When I am creating, I am my most authentic self.
Last spring my husband and I were doing some spring-cleaning in the garden and I saw the daffodil buds coming up through the leaves. I felt compelled to capture this and grabbed my camera. I felt something open up in me that I hadn’t felt in a long time. A connection to the everyday beauty that was right there in front of me. What I came to realize is that every day, every moment is a special occasion if we choose to see it that way. I have spent the remaining year photographing life as it is whether it be flowers or families.
Below is a little snapshot of what I have been working on.
I am now available to capture your sweet little daffodils. I’m starting to book up this summer up so please contact me as soon as you can to book your session!
